How he picks

Before every game he checks the prices at DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics and BetRivers: moneyline, spread and total (moneylines only in baseball), plus player props in the NFL, NHL and MLB playoffs. On a game line, one book’s price has to beat the rest of the market by at least 1.5 points of implied probability. On a prop, where the books keep a bigger cut, it has to beat the market’s fair price (the market with that cut taken out) by at least 1.5%. The biggest discount on the board is his pick: one per game, five a day at most.
A better price is not a sure winner. It means paying less than the rest of the market for the same bet, and the record shows how that plays out.
